Laser Therapy How it Works
Much like sunlight helping plants to grow, laser therapy stimulates healthy hair growth through the safe use of light, not heat.
Also known as cool laser, low-power laser, soft laser, or therapeutic laser, low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is directed at the scalp and stimulates the blood and hair cells below the scalp to grow and reproduce. The hair follicles absorb the light in the form of energy, which stimulate cell metabolism, wipes out oxygen free radicals and improves blood flow. The result? Thicker, healthier looking hair, and in many, hair regrowth.
Ziering Medical also administers a series of six post-operative LLLT treatments after hair restoration surgery as a healing method because of the technology’s ability to reduce swelling, repair the skin and speed up the healing and recover process.
You can watch Dr. Ziering discussing how laser therapy works in this report from NBC affiliate KNBC of Los Angeles.
